Approx 1500 customers of Virgin Media have had their PC's infected by a malicious Trojan virus.
The Internet Service Provider had received information from the Serious and Organised Crime Agency regarding the SpyEye virus which steals logins for online bank accounts.
Virgin has sent letters to those customers thought to be at risk detailing instructions for cleaning up their computers.
