Web addresses no longer restricted

Members of the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned names and Numbers, (ICANN), voted overwhelmingly yesterday to end web address restrictions.
The new gLTD program, (generic top level domain), will see the end of suffixes such as .com, .co.uk, or .gov.
Applications for new name domains are to be received from 12th January, 2012, and are likely to be approved within the year.
It is expected that businesses are to register as soon as possible to ensure their brand names are
